Indiana Administrative Code Title 530 - COMMISSION ON TEACHER TRAINING AND LICENSING

Indiana Administrative Code Title 530 – COMMISSION ON TEACHER TRAINING AND LICENSING
(This title is now largely defunct and has been replaced or absorbed by other state bodies and rules.)

Overview:

Title 530 of the Indiana Administrative Code formerly governed the Commission on Teacher Training and Licensing (CTTL), which was responsible for:

Setting standards for teacher preparation programs.

Issuing teaching licenses.

Approving teacher education institutions and coursework.

Establishing professional development requirements for educators.

However, Title 530 has largely been repealed or superseded due to legislative and administrative restructuring. Its functions have been transferred to the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) and the State Board of Education (Title 511 IAC), as well as Title 515 IAC (Advisory Board of the Division of Professional Standards).

Key Former Rules (when Title 530 was active):

530 IAC 1: General definitions and rule procedures.

530 IAC 2: Standards for teacher preparation programs.

530 IAC 3: Licensing requirements and categories.

530 IAC 4: Professional development and continuing education.

530 IAC 5: Alternative teacher certification routes.

Current Status:

Title 530 is now inactive. Most of its rules have been repealed or recodified into:

Title 511 IAC – Indiana State Board of Education.

Title 515 IAC – Division of Professional Standards.

Title 512 IAC – Indiana Department of Education.

If you're seeking licensing requirements or educator preparation program standards as of 2025, you'll want to review:

511 IAC (State Board of Education)

515 IAC (Professional Standards Advisory Board)

Indiana Code Title 20 (Education statutes).
