🏛 Forensic Expertise Centre of the Ministry of Justice

Overview: Established in 2017, the Centre represents the government sector of forensic expertise in Kazakhstan. It integrates forensic science and forensic medicine services across the country. The Centre operates 19 regional forensic science institutes, employing approximately 2,800 professionals, including over 1,000 qualified forensic experts These institutes conduct 30 types of forensic examinations in 57 disciplines, encompassing traditional, special, chemical, and medical areas

Residency Program The Kazakh National Medical University offers a residency program in forensic medical expertise.  The curriculum include: Medical-forensic and photographic research methods, Examination of damages and death from various external influences. Forensic medicine examination of living persons and biological objects. Judicial and organizational aspects of forensic medicine services, Forensic medical examination in cases of professional offenses by medical workers

Certification To conduct forensic medical, psychiatric, or narcological expertise, professionals must obtain a qualification certificate. This process is managed through the electronic government portal, requiring submission of necessary documents and approval from the Ministry of Justice.

Forensic Expert Activity Law Kazakhstan's legal framework for forensic expertise is governed by the Law "On Forensic Expert Activity," which outlines the terms of examination, rights and obligations of forensic experts, and maintenance of state registers of forensic experts and method.

Medical Malpractice Liability Kazakhstan has introduced stricter liability for medical malpractice. If medical malpractice results in moderate to serious damage to a patient's health or death, criminal liability may be imposed on the medical practitioner. Civil actions for medical malpractice allow patients to claim compensation for actual costs, loss of profit, and moral har.
