Media laws at Tuvalu

Tuvalu, a Pacific island nation, has been taking steps to enhance media freedom and transparency. The government initiated the development of a 'Right to Information' framework in 2023, aiming to improve anti-corruption measures and enable citizens and journalists to access official information more effectively. This initiative is supported by Canada and led by the University of the South Pacific, focusing on training and capacity building for women, youth, and journalists

The Tuvalu Broadcasting Corporation (TVBC), established under the Public Broadcasting Act 2014, serves as the national broadcaster. It operates independently from the government, with a mandate to be neutral and impartial. TVBC manages radio stations and Tuvalu.TV, providing content in both English and Tuvaluan languages
